The story starts with Harrell Consulting, founded in 2006 by Debbie Harrell. Debbie, a Sociologist, spent more than a decade working as a victim advocate and responding to crisis situations and traumatic events, where she discovered her ability to create a calm amidst emotional chaos. Her position also included grant writing and project management, and Harrell Consulting emphasized those skills by providing writing and graphic design services to the private sector. Still, she searched for an opportunity to use her writing and interviewing skills to reveal a brighter side of the world. She wanted to do something creative, something meaningful that could lift spirits and bring joy to people's hearts, including her own. Enter Boylerworks. Business Analyst Carla Boyle pursued her love for photography and video editing to the point it became a second profession. She created dozens of DVD's, including one for Debbie's parents' 40th anniversary. Then one of Debbie's clients wondered if Carla would make a DVD about her son, who died after living a mere but happy 18 months. After viewing the final production, Debbie realized a demand existed within a special market, and she knew she could serve these unique clients with sensitivity and compassion. Carla's technical and artistic expertise combined with Debbie's writing, interviewing and editing skills resulted in the creation of Harrell Productions.
